Hot Chocolate Run 2014...greeting you with a kiss!

Anna decided last fall that she wanted to run in a 5K race together,
and she picked the Hot Chocolate Run
(because she knew how much fun I had last year with this race whose tag line is "will run for chocolate.")

We've been running together a couple of times a week since Christmas,
and with hot chocolate & chocolate fondue at the finish line, our eyes were on the prize this morning.

two hoola hoops + two garbage bags + two sheets of mylar + two birthday hats covered in mylar + two Kisses signs covered in tape in case of rain + lots of packing tape = two Hershey's Kisses ready to run at the start line bright and early at 6:45 a.m.

We had so much fun running in our mylar costumes that we put together this morning (though I must say that we could not sneak up on anyone as we were loud as we ran by and with the mylar flapping in the wind!).

two kisses holding hands for the whole race...

We got some fun comments from folks out cheering for the runners.
Our favorite was, "You're not melting yet!"

awesome volunteers out to help this morning to make the race a success

HERSHEY'S KISS TRIVIA - just for fun...

It's hard to believe that Kisses are more than a hundred years old. They were introduced in 1907 and the candy got its name by the machine that made them, which made kiss sounds when they were created.

Hershey's Kisses, the milk chocolate treats wrapped in an eye-catching silver foil, offer a truly classic chocolate dollop. Perfect for Halloween, parties, and promotions, or anytime you could use a delicious dose of chocolate, Hershey's chocolate Kisses help people share happiness, spread love and send a smile.
Delightful and delicious Hershey's Kisses offer a light yet satisfying way to enjoy a quick chocolate fix.  In fact, Kisses are so small and lightweight that it would take about 88 Kisses to equal one pound of chocolate.

The World’s Largest Hershey®’s Kisses®Chocolate stands 12 feet tall and weighs 30,540 pounds. Built in nine days by 152 people, the giant chocolate is covered in 16,460 feet of the classic silver foil. The World’s Largest Hershey’s Kisses Chocolate celebrates the 100th anniversary of the iconicHershey’s Kisses Brand, and features a seven-foot-long plume that reads “100 Years of Kisses.”

greeting you with a KISS!
