Family Awards

 

Carrying on the tradition of family awards that we started during Covid, on the last night of our incredible Dolomites adventure, we had an awards night around the table at our Airbnb in Venice. We came up with names of cocktails for each person to match some of our favorite stories and memories from the trip. Be sure to track us down for the inside scoop on these awards....

The Funny Bone- Little Bobby in the Dolomites with ice cream and a Coke plus unnecessary PDA in

Venice= the Huff family laughing uncontrollably on a trail or in an elevator

 

ANNA

The Google Map- She gets us where we need to go – most of the time….

The Fashion Queen- Hiking with a tutu is always a good idea!

Good Dog

 

Stella is such a good, good dog..... 

We are headed to a backpacking trip tomorrow and will be back on Friday.... 

I imagine that there will be times when we wish we could trade places with Stella and be in a nice cool house while we are out in the great outdoors. :) 

Montana Train

Grateful for a smooth drive over to Missoula today, for a wonderful meal from Aunt T when we arrived, and a concert tonight to see Train perform at the Kettlehouse Amphitheater.

Summer Days

 

Anna has been in CA this week hanging out with friends there, and she has had the best time...  As one of her best friends (Jay) is studying abroad in the fall and as Anna is planning to study abroad in the spring, this was an important time for them to get to have together before a year apart.

I've known these ladies for almost 30 years--- They were sophomores in high school when I was their Bible study leader through the Edge the first year after I graduated from college. 

SO grateful for so much that we have shared together! 

a quick visit to see Seth and deliver some "dirt cake" (chocolate pudding and oreos)-- as he hurt his knee again and has to have another surgery in August... 

10 mile update

After the Sunflower Relay in the spring, Taylor told me he wanted to run a half marathon before he headed to college. So, I found a trail half marathon in August that Anna, Taylor, and I signed up for. Taylor went on a few runs with me and Anna before our Dolomites trip, but he did not feel that great on them. Perhaps it was the 70 miles in 6 days that whipped him back into shape because today, he and I pulled off 10 miles doing laps on some trails in Ravenna Park. WAY TO GO, TAYLOR!!
