Day 5: Frara Hut to Ghendencia Hut
Before going to bed, we got to watch an incredible lightning
storm, and upon waking, it seemed that the rain was gone. But just after breakfast
when we started our hike, we got a taste of home and a dose of the Northwest,
and we hiked through some serious rain for about 2 1/2 hours. There is a reason
the meadows are so green around here! But then the sun started to peek through midday,
and we got the entire afternoon and evening to see 360-degree views of all the
trails we had been hiking over the last week. What an amazing day clocking ten
miles through sunshine and rain!

This song came to mind again and again on our hike today:
Bless the Lord oh my soul
Oh my soul
Worship His Holy name
Sing like never before
Oh my soul
I'll worship Your Holy name
The sun comes up
It's a new day dawning
It's time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass
And whatever lies before me
Let me be singing
When the evening comes
This
is us at Rifugio Puez where we were so delighted to dry out and reset for the rest of
the afternoon. (Not to mention the wonderful combo of tea and rum that Jason
and I ordered!
Who knew that would be such a treat?)
afternoon sunshine!
Taylor was clearly standing on an incline here--- hilarious!
