At the Christmas Eve service, Father Jerry invited us all to sing "Happy Birthday" as a congregation. Birthdays are times to give gifts, but for Christmas we have a tradition of giving gifts to one another and not to the one whose birth we are celebrating.
His question to us was "What do we give Jesus for Christmas?"
When Janie asked this question later around the Christmas tree,
Anna said so plainly, "We give him ourselves!"
