nashukuru

Nashukuru is a Kiswahili word for appreciation and gratitude....

 

Today we are so grateful for some time we had with Nelius, Mochache and Abby today. We became friends when they were in Seattle four years ago for a one-year fellowship at the University of WA in global health. They lived for a time in the basement apartment of our neighbors Tom and Marisa.  Nelius first saw my bumper sticker on my car in the alley that said "in my dreams I am a Kenyan," and she knew there must be a story there. We met and became fast friends.  Her daughter Abby was three years old at the time so it was such a treat to see them again today as she is almost 7 year old now.  Oh how the years go by. :)

 

Such a sweet reunion today in Kenya!
