Last night, a few friends joined me for a time of evening prayer
as an early celebration of my birthday next week.
During the part where we shared what we were most grateful for and least grateful for from the past week, I was struck with the beautiful stories that each friend brought to the table. And this quote below rings true for me in this season of midlife and for each of the women who came to celebrate with me as we shared the ups and downs of life together.
so thankful for the community we are blessed with here...
"We Your servants give You humble thanks, Almighty God, for all your gifts and graces to us this day: For the splendor of the whole creation and the beauty of this world; for the wonder of life and the mystery of love; for the blessing of family and friends and the loving care that surrounds us on every side...."
Come, everyone! Clap your hands! Shout to God with joyful praise!
Psalm 47:1 (from the psalm that was the reading for the day)
