Happy Advent Today!
In the midst of a season that is known for being the busiest time of year, I often find songs like "Silent Night" to feel illusive. But I am hoping to carve out 5 minutes to be quiet each day and reflect on the words below. I invite you to join me this Advent to anticipate the gift of Emmanuel- God with us.
The following invitation is from the Anglican Communion website.
-------------------------------------------------
Today is the first day of Advent.
If you would like to receive #AdventWord this year we invite you to click this link www.adventword.org/sign-up. #AdventWord – the Anglican Communion’s Global Advent Calendar – begins on Sunday, December 3rd with images and meditations available via email, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. During the 23 days of Advent, a daily email featuring the #AdventWord of the day will go out at 5 a.m.each day, and respondents are encouraged to share their responses to the meditations and images to the aggregated prayer walls within the advent calendar.
#AdventWord helps teach everyone how to pray with images as we prepare for the coming of Emmanuel. We developed #AdventWord to bring joy....--James Koester

Below is a guide to centering prayer that a friend shared this summer at a retreat.
I'm hoping to use this as a way to reflect on the #AdventWords above.
