Since things shut down in March, we've had a daily Zoom call (M-F) each morning from 7:40- 8:00 with many of our our UDistrict neighbors. Keith Pepsny, one of our amazing neighbors who leads the Navigators at UW, threw out the idea at the beginning and has been leading the group faithfully each day. We've read psalms, prayed together, and listened to each other's stories. It's been an incredible gift to have this each day as an anchor and to know that we are all in this together.
Sadly, over the last couple of months, one of our neighbors, Anna Petree, has been fighting cancer, and we've been able to hear more of their family's journey on these morning calls. She took her last breath last night, and her husband played a song this morning in her honor with all of us on the morning call today. This neighborhood is deep and rich, and we are so grateful for the way people love each other so well here and model for us and for our kids what God's love looks like in community.

Psalm 23 has been our psalm the last few days on the calls and it has met us where we are...
Listen in here for a beautiful rendition of Psalm 23:
Some of our neighbors had the idea to use our Easter cross and put it in the Petree's yard as a way for people to honor her today. There's really no better symbol of hope than this...
