"To the mamas growing their very first baby in the womb this year. To the ones ironing graduation gowns and wondering where on God’s earth 18 years went. To the ones cherishing the last baby days and watching their littles lose their roundness. To the mamas looking at their 6’2” grown sons in awe of these baby adults they are becoming. To the mamas navigating so much pain with their child, they can’t even form words about it. To every mom at a child’s hospital bedside. To the ones walking their kids through the unimaginable. To the moms hoping and praying and wishing for their child’s safety, or sobriety, or recovery, or return. I see you, moms. No one tries harder. No one cares deeper. No one will go to the mat with more ferocity for their kids. No one is willing to sleep this little and cheer this loud and work this hard and love this much. It is excruciating, motherhood. And exquisite. What a ride. What an unbelievable turn of events to parent these children. Happy Mother’s Day, beloveds..." -Jen Hatmaker
