Connections

Today has been another wonderful reminder that we are all connected
and that we belong to each other...

breakfast for champions: our favorite homemade granola for Ratnakar and banana for Willow

Green Lake glory on the way to SPU this morning

a quick visit to see the Fremont Troll (also on the way to SPU)

I had my first colloquium class today with freshmen (they will all be reading So You Want to Talk about Race by Ijeoma Olua), and after introductions and going over the syllabus, Ratnakar shared with my class about the caste system in India which has so many similarities to the racism here in America. What a gift to have him here!

Ratnakar in front of the theology department

chapel visit in the School of Theology

one more day of Rainier showing off!

Seward Park with Charlene Crawford who has sponsored students from India for many years.

For our last meal all together (as Ratnakar leaves on Friday), Jason grilled burgers and made home fries for us for dinner. It was a great all-American meal and we had a sweet send off prayer for him.

My friend and colleague Rachael has an aunt in India who lives in a town only about 80 km from where Ratnakar lives! What a small world!!
