Our friend Jessica (whom we have gotten to know over the last year through OPOP- One Parish/One Prisoner) was just released from the women's correctional center last week. She is in transitional housing, and we got to celebrate her birthday at her house near Green Lake on Friday. And then to top the weekend off, she was able to come to Union with us on Sunday. Let me just say that I got teary during church because for me Jessica was the sermon. This is Easter hope at its best and I'm so grateful for the way we have developed friendships over the last year and for the growth we've experienced together.
We had so much fun donning her with a crown and a birthday sash and blowing bubbles-
