I love the children's book Frederick. It was re-introduced to me at the retreat that I went to with Tracey for her 50th birthday.
"This is the story of a daydreamy field mouse who spends his summer days very differently from his mouse family. As the other mice work busily night and day to gather nuts, wheat, and straw, Frederick instead gathers sun rays, colors, and words. Later, when all the supplies have been exhausted, the mice ask Frederick for his contribution to the group, and he envelops them with words that bring the warmth of the sun's glow that paint their gray minds the bright colors of the flowers and wheat and berries."
Lily, our retreat leader read the book to us and said,
"We need more Fredericks in the world- bringing color to people who need it."
I got copies of the book to give to Liv, one of Anna's best friends, and to Anna as they are both folks who bring much color to people who need it in this world.
