Cascade Pass and Sahale Arm

"There is something about the world’s glory—its light and shadow, its songbirds and seasons—that stirs up the deep place in us where awe lives. Ralph Waldo Emerson saw nature as a kind of spiritual tuning fork. The stars or horizon weren’t simply pretty; they helped us realign with the sacred." -Kate Bowler

Anna, Jason, and I went with Anna's friend Sarah Bell on a long day hike yesterday to Cascade Pass and Sahale Arm, and it was MAGIC. We had hoped to go to Thorton Lakes for an overnight backpack, but permits were not available when we got to the ranger station, so we went with our Plan B which turned out to be pretty spectacular.

what a stunning backdrop!
