Lake Dorothy

We have had a tradition of a family backpack with just the 4 of us for the last four summers and we squeezed in a trip to Lake Dorothy to check another one off the list for this summer. So thankful for a short hike with great payoff at a beautiful campsite at Lake Dorothy off Highway 2.
We laughed so hard at how HUGE Jason's backpack was.  (Long story short- as we got our our camping stuff on Friday night, Jason discovered that our small camping stove was not working. Rather than trying to go to the store to find another one on Saturday before heading out, we just decided to bring our big Coleman car camping stove. We figured that it did not add too much more weight on a hike that was relatively short. But we sure looked like we were the pansies while Jason was the packhorse carrying everything but the kitchen sink as we hiked down the trail!)

Anna slept in her hammock last night! (Next time, we need to make sure to put a thema-rest under her sleeping bag for insulation since she got a bit cold, but what a great memory!)

a trip on Highway 2 is more fun with a stop at Zeke's!  (This place has not changed in over 20 years!)
