a look back at Day 2 (July 23)
Espanola Island: Gardner Bay
Punta Suarez
We sailed to Espanola Island that is known for its long
white beaches, and we were delighted to be greeted by many adorable sea lions. In the afternoon, we
enjoyed a hike at Punta Suarez for a walk along a trail lined with marine
iguanas, blue-footed boobies and more sea lions (which are the golden retriever
of the Galapagos as they are so playful and friendly.)
the only time we were really able to go for a run on the beach during our trip-- pretty amazing with the white soft sand!
please notice that the sea lions' noses are shaped like hearts
