Farewell to Galapagos

Back to Baltra and then on to Quito 

We bid farewell to our amazing guide Franklin and the wonderful ship crew, and we headed to Quito on this day. When we arrived in Quito, we explored a bit and then went to one of the most amazing restaurants to continue the anniversary festivities!

We had the BEST meal there! 

One of the board members of Siloam Clinic where Dad volunteers sat on a plane and talked at length with Alejandra (founder and executive chef who is pictured in between Janie and Abba above), and upon her return to the US, she recommended that we go to this new restaurant Alejandra opened just a couple of weeks ago. When Mom shared this connection with the owner's husband on the phone when she made the reservation, you would have thought we were long lost friends.  The greeting and warm welcome we were given was out of this world!
