Brian McLaren’s description of the
Galapagos Islands is spot on: “Paradise.
The word struck me. In these islands, animals aren’t afraid of humans, because
humans, like the other animals around them, pose no threat; we are their fellow
creatures, their friends, their protectors, interested in them for what they are,
not for how we can exploit them.”
The
Story We Find Ourselves In
a look back at Day 4 (July 25)
Santa Fe Island
South Plaza Island
We explored another white sand beach on Santa Fe Island
where we got to have more time with sea lions and land iguanas. The afternoon took us to South Plaza Island
where we got to hike among land iguanas as they nibbled on the fruit of prickly
pear cactus. Snorkeling with the sea
lions was a new daily activity that brought us all so much joy to watch them
play!!
nap time for the lizard and the sea lion....
