If we didn't love Anna so fiercely, we wouldn't have had to brace ourselves for the terrible ache of saying goodbye today—but then we also wouldn't have felt the keen joy of watching her launch.
We are grateful for a day filled with final errands, unpacking, and tearful goodbyes, and we are excited and hopeful about what God has in store for Anna in the next four years at Scripps.❤
leaving our Airbnb this morning
Anna's bike (generously handed down to Anna from a friend of mine
who lived there over this past year)
entering the rose garden
such fun to run into Chloe at the bookstore today
(Chloe also goes to Scripps and is from Bainbridge Island. Anna & Chloe had already had a couple of adventures together hiking and rock climbing together this summer, so it was such fun to have a familiar face)

we all found our jobs and then tried to clear some space to let Anna bring some order to the chaos
Anna and her roommate Katie
Taylor and I went to a letter writing spot where we could write letters that will be delivered to them in 2-3 weeks. I knew our goodbye was just around the corner at this point so it was good to take a minute to scribble out some happy thoughts for our girl.
one more hug....
