Not Quite

One of the things I had looked into for Anna's 16th birthday was a hot air balloon ride together. We found the Winthrop Balloon Festival the first weekend in March with a balloon ride over the Methow Valley. The following two pictures were the ones that drew us in and made us put this on our list for the year.

We signed up for the Sunday morning slot so we drove over to the Methow Valley on Saturday and got up bright and early this morning.  The sunrise was lovely, but when we got to the launch site, they said that it was too windy and that they had to cancel all the rides scheduled for the day.

Anna and I just rolled with the punches and went with Plan B. We soaked up some of the beauty of the valley before our trek back home and made the most of the time together.
a little rendezvous to the Suspension Bridge

a quick soak in the hot tub at our friend's house

a run at Patterson Lake

blue skies on our way home...

so.... not quite what we had thought the weekend would be but still so so good.
I am so thankful for adventures with my girl no matter what they are. :)
