This morning when we arrived at Arlington National Cemetery, it was raining. John Wimberly, the wonderful pastor of Aunt Mae's church that she attended in DC, mentioned that in many cultures, it is a good omen to have rain on days like funerals or weddings as it is a sign of growth and of new life.
The morning was an incredibly memorable tribute to Mabel Clark whose story of service in this world and her adventurous spirit and curious mind will always be an inspiration to me.
