Last Thursday, at SPU, the School of Education hosted about sixty 5th graders from Dearborn Park Elementary for a Going to College field trip. The 5th grade students were paired with college students as their buddies for the day. They also got a tour of campus, went to the library, went into one of the dorms, came to my class where my students taught them lessons on conflict resolution, played some great games in the gym, and best of all got to get lunch in Gwinn Commons which has amazing food. It was a day they won't forget! I am thankful for the day that was a "win-win" for both the SPU students and for the 5th graders!
