the wildest brother and good neighbors

Taylor was flexing his muscles in front of a mirror last night and it totally reminded me of one of our favorite books, The Wildest Brother.

if you have not read this book, go immediately to the library to check it out or come to our house to borrow it. :)

:) Though this book names the boy above as Ben, we know that it is about Taylor. :)

Micah is FOUR today!!! We made him this cake for real birthday today and another one for his party tomorrow. :)

:) knee pads on his shoulders to look like a football player...

16th Ave NE crew...

our awesome neighbors the Hestads for some Friday night fun... Can I just say how much I LOVE this neighborhood?!

an apple for the teacher

truly have been blessed with some amazing friends (new and old!). In my first class today on campus at SPU, Mike Langford (whom I have known since college) shows up after my first ten minutes and walks into the lecture hall with a shiny red apple for the teacher placing it on the table in the front of the classroom.  He tells the class that it is my first class at SPU and told them to be nice to me. :) He also handed me a few stickers (that he probably took from his daughter Hannah) and then left the room. As I was laughing out loud, he then walked back in the room and took a picture of our class. WHAT FUN! Then I came home and was surprised when my awesome neighbor Jaime brought me fabulous first day of school treat. See below... I LOVE my class and the students I have are a great bunch. What a great start to the quarter today!

honored guests

As Henri Nouwen said so beautifully,"It is the parents' vocation to welcome their children as honored guests in their home.." Giving thanks for the wonderful honored guests God has given us...

listen to your life...

"Listen to your life. See it for the fathomless mystery it is. In the boredom and pain of it, no less than in the excitement and gladness: touch, taste, smell your way to the holy and hidden heart of it, because in the last analysis all moments are key moments, and life itself is grace." –frederick buechner

Tonight, Taylor and Jason went to scouts and realized that it was the raingutter regatta! Jason thought it was next week. But, they pulled it off and made a boat really fast. Taylor even won 5 rounds with this little boat!

care package from Kim- yay!

When I went to pick up the kids, I could not find Taylor. He was up in the tree on the playground... :) sneaky little man...

Oh hi!!

They made these pinwheels at school on Friday for the "pinwheels for peace" project for International Day of Peace (9/21). SUPER COOL!

this made us laugh out loud...

too bad I can't bring Wilbur to school when I pick up the kids.

thanks to Kim Kredich and Janet Reinholz, Anna is off to a great start with flute at school this year!
