Tenacious

te·na·cious
təˈnāSHəs/
adjective
  1. tending to keep a firm hold of something; clinging or adhering closely.
    "a tenacious grip"
    synonyms:firmtightfastclinging

This morning, I ran in the Tenacious Ten (a ten mile run put on by my favorite running company called Oiselle started by a running friend here in Seattle).

With our dear friends (Rachel & Aaron White) in the hospital for chemo treatments for an orphan named Ferlando from Haiti who has become a part of their family over the last few months, it only seemed fitting to dedicate the run to them and to pray for tenacity for each of them during this time... You can read more of this amazing story that their family has found themselves in at this Caring Bridge site.

I finished in 1 hour 13 minutes with an average pace of 7:15.... a PR for sure!

The medal for finishing today was a cowbell. (see above)..
This will go to Nashville in a care package today to cheer the Whites on....
"Everything needs more Cowbell, NO exceptions!!!"

Every two miles or so,
I'd take turns praying for Kately, Jake, Aaron, Rachel and Ferlando...

Dear God, I pray a double portion of tenacity, determination, and patience for Rachel, Aaron, Katelyn, Jake and Ferlando in the coming days. Give them strength when they feel that they are at the end of their ropes.  Give them a spirit of joy so that they can wait with hope and with expectation of how You are going to show up each day. I know that you are able to do abundantly more than we could ever ask, think, imagine, dream or hope for, and I pray that your peace will guard their hearts and minds minute by minute. Give them an awareness of your mercies and your goodness.  Lord, I ask that your grace would be sufficient and that you would wrap them up in love today.
