It has been such fun each year to decorate a bridge with balloons and sidewalk chalk as a surprise for a run on Elizabeth's birthday. On Wednesday this week, she said, "Please don't get up super early or stay up late to put up balloons!" So- I honored her request... sort of. :)
I went on Thursday night to the bridge on 20th Avenue around 8:30 p.m. and put up the balloons. So it was not super late and it was not super early-- but I still made it festive despite her efforts telling me not to make it a big deal. Thankfully, Friday morning when we met on the bridge for a run, the balloons were still there along with the chalk birthday messages greet her.
