Just Mercy

Anna powered through this book over the weekend
so that she could finish it before we went to the movie on Monday evening.

“There is a strength, a power even, in understanding brokenness, because embracing our brokenness creates a need and desire for mercy, and perhaps a corresponding need to show mercy. When you experience mercy, you learn things that are hard to learn otherwise. You see things you can't otherwise see; you hear things you can't otherwise hear. You begin to recognize the humanity that resides in each of us.”
― Bryan Stevenson, Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption

This movie is a must see!! What a powerful way to spend part of MLK Day....

We were so happy that Liam could join us for the movie at the last minute!

(Taylor could not come as his team kept winning soccer games and they made it to the final tournament which took place during the same time we had already had reserved tickets for the movie. Bummer that we missed seeing his second goal of the weekend, and I wish we could have been in two places at once!)
