What in the world?

Two 4-month-old pigs were sighted walking down the sidewalk on 16th Ave on Saturday night, and then on Sunday morning, they spent quite a bit of time in our yard. What in the world?!

Apparently, there are a couple of properties with abandoned houses on 15th Ave that are going to be torn down and eventually turned into apartment buildings. Some folks figured out that these spaces were unoccupied while the owners were waiting on the permitting, and they have been squatting there. And to add to it all, two of them got a couple of pigs as pets that escaped this weekend and made themselves quite at home in our yard for part of the day on Sunday.

ChiChi and Grumpy (we did not name them--- we found out these names from another neighbor)

Poppy even got to meet them. They did not really care much,
and just rolled over and went back to sleep. Meanwhile, Poppy seemed happy to go back inside.

Jason went over to the abandoned house and told the folks to come get their pigs (as the pigs were eating up our backyard), but they never came so he called animal control. When the folks from animal control came, they reported that they had picked these pigs up several times before and the owners kept coming back to get them. What in the world?

What a wild Sunday afternoon!
