I am grateful for Abba and Jim who helped along the way over spring break to show Taylor the ropes with soldering and wiring so he could make a portable charger and for Taylor's partner (Gunnar)'s mom who edited some of their writing and provided sparkly tape for their project. :) Indeed, this kind of stuff takes a village!
They created a notebook with a portable charger in it so they could charge a phone at school. I can guarantee that this was not a project done in 1985 when I was in 6th grade. :)
