after her fun stay at Nana and Papa's while we were gone!

a fun day exploring together in Quito before heading back to life in CA
Meanwhile, the rest of our crew took a 3 hour bus ride out of Quito
into the cloud forest to get to the Mashpi Lodge.
these floor to ceiling windows are amazing and make it feel like you are in an incredible (luxurious) tree house
The trails are super muddy from all the rain, but they have found a brilliant way to preserve the trails by using over 18,000 soda crates stacked along the trails to keep hikers from slipping.

(This makes it look like he's a hit man, but not to worry! We bonded and had a great time with him!)
