Backyard Pilgrim

During Lent last year, Anna and I picked up a book called Backyard Pilgrim written by our old friend Matt Canlis. There are daily passages to read along with something to consider as the reader goes to walk around the neighborhood each day as well. We used it to walk around our block to get up away from our computers and to get outside together.  It was perfect while she was still doing school fully online, but when she went back to school part time in the spring, we were not able to do the walks everyday. We still had the end of the book to finish, and we wrapped it up the night before she left for college with one more walk around the block.   "Lean into your identity as God's beloved child" were words for one of the last readings, and they were the perfect words to read to Anna on the night before we flew to CA.

We took pictures of each of our walks around the block and in our neighborhood after we read each passage. This is the video that I put together last week for Anna which I sent to her as a little gift.
