Whidbey Magic

I got to be on Whidbey Island at Camp Casey Monday through Wednesday for a theology class, and it was a little bit of heaven getting to soak up the sunshine in an outdoor classroom, connect with others and with God, and begin the new school year with a dose of refreshment and rest.

Prayer

It doesn't have to be
the blue iris, it could be
weeds in a vacant lot, or a few
small stones; just
pay attention, then patch

a few words together and don't try
to make them elaborate, this isn't
a contest but the doorway

into thanks, and a silence in which
another voice may speak.
