10 Wishes

As our team read Elena Aguilar's book Onward about emotional resilience last year at SPU, I wanted to share her recent email list as a reminder of some of her wisdom and whimsy with her 10 wishes for the holiday break:   

  1. May you sleep well. For 8+ hours. Without nightmares.

  2. May your dreams help you understand yourself. May they provide a map for self-development.

  3. May you dance - alone and with others. Because freedom begins and ends in our bodies, and to move our bodies in ways that bring us joy is a human right.

  4. May you slow down, way down, so that you can savor the bright spots in every moment.

  5. May you immerse yourself in the beauty of this magnificent earth.

  6. May you immerse yourself in the beauty that humans create - art, music, TV. Humans can be amazing!

  7. May you be kind to yourself. May you tell yourself, “I am enough, I do enough.”

  8. May you spend time with people who see your enoughness, who see your brilliance.

  9. May you accept that you deserve healing and discover the next steps on your healing journey.

  10. And may you take those steps towards wholeness, connection, and love, and create a life in which you thrive.
