the 23rd of December...

This is one of my favorite Christmas reflections from Lisa Jo Baker from an email she sent 5 years ago in December 2017:

Come.
Come, Lord Jesus. Come.
Come.
Into our tired homes and tired hearts. Into our completely imperfect decorations and the nights when we lose it. The mornings when we scream because someone dropped red pasta sauce onto our new white fuzzy Target blanket. (Yes that happened here).
Come into our apologies, our do-overs, our hugs, our last minute spelling practices.
Come, Lord Jesus.
Come and be with us, in us, for us.
Come. Please come.
We are homeless without you.
Dear friends, may this last week before Christmas find you at home with the Savior who loves us, just the way we are.

Happy 23rd to Taylor!

remembering our Halycon days....

catching up with Kendra and Caroline

Our family party was much smaller this year since the weather was so cold and roads were still icy and flights were cancelled....We are sad that Jim & Erika and Sam, Kathy, Sarah, Porter, & James could not join us....but we were still thankful to have had time with part of the Raines crew around the fire....

Taylor, Farris, Dan, Oliver and Owen
