We had planned to do a quick trip to the Methow Valley to hike the Maple Loop trail today (as this was on our summer list with Taylor), but the trail was closed due to smoke from surrounding fires, so we came up with Plan B and went to the Chain Lakes trail which turned out to be really special. We had gorgeous views of Mount Baker and Mount Shuksan surrounded by the North Cascades, and Jason and I swam twice in Bagley Lake. So grateful to snag this time with Taylor as we are counting down the days until we head to Santa Cruz.
