As I was on light rail yesterday on my way home, Jaime called me to say that they were pulling off a last-minute birthday gathering after school in Malia's backyard for her birthday. She knew that I might just want to come home and go to bed, but I was so excited to stop by and say hi to folks. It was a gorgeous sunny day, and it was such fun to drop my bags off at home and walk across the street for some spontaneous birthday cheer. Love this neighborhood!
