Our neighbor Aidan Schellings who had a terrible skateboarding accident last spring came home from Nebraska tonight from the program where he has been doing physical therapy and rehab for people like him who have had traumatic brain injuries. There was a big group of family, friends and neighbors at the airport to welcome him back home, and there was so much joy!!
It's still going to be a long road ahead, but what incredible progress he has made in these last 6 months!

Rebecca and Steve posted on Facebook that they wanted folks to show up in helmets to support this advocacy work they've done through all of this to try to use Aidan's story to change the culture of skateboarding so that folks will wear helmets. Apparently, we were the only ones who got the memo ... So funny!
