Poor Little Poppy

Over the last week or so, Poppy has not been as mobile and we had noticed that something was wrong with her back right leg.  Anna called many vet clinics but had not been able to get an appointment soon so she was advised to take her to the emergency exotic animal clinic to make sure that she did not have a fracture in her leg.  Anna and I made the trek to Bothell yesterday and had A LOT of bonding time (4 hours!) waiting in the car together after we dropped her off at the curbside check in. Unfortunately, it was a very busy day at the clinic and there were a few emergencies that took priority over Poppy.  We came home for dinner and then went back to pick her up after they had done an x-ray and had confirmed that it was only a sprain.  Poor little Poppy! They sent us home with some pain relief that tastes like honey so she loves it.

her arrival back home

Anna let me put up a little disco ball to welcome her home last night....
(but she made me take it down because it would be terrible if that fell on her!)

I did put up little fairy lights for Poppy today. :) Those are allowed to stay up.

We are so glad that she's okay and that we can still have our Poppy times. She needs to rest and not hop around a lot in the next few weeks, but I think the best medicine for her (and for us!) is to sit by her and love on her her as often as we can. :)
