Welcome Willow!

On the night of March 4th, I sent Jodi a few pictures, and below is what came out of our text chain....

💜
And then of course, our beloved Poppy died last Wednesday, March 14th, and we had a very sweet memorial service on Saturday with a slideshow with over 500 pictures of so much love that she gave to our home since the fall of 2013.
💜
I shared the pictures from the memorial service with Jodi on Wednesday (3/21) of this week:

Jodi responded soon afterwards:

We emailed back and forth about timing, and while it was much faster than we would have expected to pull this off, we thought it would be so special if Willow could come before Anna arrives next weekend (March 30- April 2) for an ultimate frisbee tournament. And then it turned out that Jodi was going to be heading to Wenatchee on Thursday so we met up in North Bend this afternoon for me to pick up Willow. The comment above in her email about heaven comes from a previous statement Jodi made many years ago that Poppy did not have to die to go to heaven; she just came to our house (as she had such a good life and got so much love here).
💜
So we welcomed Willow "to heaven" today, and we hope we can give her as wonderful a home as we gave to Poppy..... It's sweet to have her here, but it's also quite bittersweet to see a bunny hopping around in Poppy's place.  We are delighted to have her, but of course she will have her own story. No bunny will be able to replace our dear Poppy who grew up with Anna and Taylor over the last decade.   As our friend Julia said, we trust that Poppy "can continue her job of watching over us and reminding us of our better selves, and our deeper ability to love."
💜
and thus begins a new chapter....
WELCOME, WILLOW!
