Free Lemonade

Yesterday, before we left the cabin, the kids set up a lemonade stand on the side of the road. 

As cars drove by, they were going pretty fast and no one even slowed down to stop for quite a while. But that did not stop the kids from waving at the cars going by with big smiles and shouting out, "Free Lemonade!"  

Finally a sweet older gentleman stopped to be their customer to serve for the day.  

How perfect to get to offer lemonade to a man in a cowboy hat! 

As he got out money, the kids told him that it was free and they offered him a cold glass of lemonade.   I asked him a bit about his story and found out that he has grandchildren, great grandchildren and even two great great grandchildren! He has most likely seen lots of lemonade stands through the years and he knew the value of stopping for the kids' sake.   

He made their day by taking the time to stop.... 

and I imagine that their smiles were a bright spot in his day too...
