Jolly Old St. Nick (2 days early)

St. Nicholas Day is on Thursday, December 6th, but we celebrated tonight since we have been invited to a friend's house for dinner on the 6th and will not be home in time to carry on our tradition.  Liam & Micah joined us in our attempt to be sneaky and deliver our St. Nicholas cookies this year.

Here is the note that we left for folks with the cookies when we left cookies on doorsteps, knocked on the door and then ran as fast as we could:
Saint Nicolas is related to our modern day Santa Claus, and many will celebrate his feast day this week on December 6. In the Christian church tradition, Saint Nicolas is the patron saint of children because he was reputed to have given gifts to them secretly in the night. He was renowned for his secret generosity and it is this aspect of his legend that we celebrate in our American tradition of Santa Claus.  Please accept this ‘secret’ gift of cookies as a commemoration of his generosity and as an early reminder of the great gift that God gave us at Christmas.
Christmas Cheer,
 your ‘secret’ St. Nicolas friends

don't get caught!!

We went to the Li's house and thought that they were not home so we took a picture on their front porch and then left the goodies. We were walking away when Jason heard the door open and we were caught! We sang "We Wish you a Merry Christmas" to Skip upon getting caught. (It seemed like a good new rule to enforce that we have to sing if we do get caught...)
