I looked on the Washington Trails website and found the "Hike of the Week" for our outing today to Heybrook Lookout for an adventure with Uncle Jim. The reporting about the muddy trails was a bit of an understatement and the slush and snow that were waiting for us were not quite what we were expecting. So, though it was a bust for our hike, it was an opportunity for me to see how my long sleeved shirt can be turned into long pants for Taylor in a pinch to go under his shorts. And, it was an opportunity to practice turning the page when things don't go as planned. :)
Nonetheless, I am thankful for the beautiful views we did see and for the time with Jim and Janie today...
