Find Your Happy Pace

I kept thinking today about this sticker that I have that says, "find your happy pace".  As we have been skiing the past couple of days, we've had some time skiing as a family and also with friends. Today, we met up with the Connolly crew on some trails and it was lots of fun to see them in this amazing winter playground here in the Methow Valley.  Jodi and BC also came to the trails with about 4 other families from their cyclocross team so there were lots of kids in the mix who all were at different levels in their skiing. At one point after we had just gotten started with the big group, Anna told me that she liked it better with just our family because she felt like she was not fast enough.  But after Jodi encouraged her and told her that everyone can just go at his or her own pace, she began to enjoy it more and she had a fabulous time this morning.  It's so true in life that we all need to find our happy pace. When we find that groove and are secure with that, we are not comparing to others or thinking that we have something to prove. It does not mean that we don't challenge ourselves at times, but we also accept where we are and we are in tune with our strengths and weaknesses.  And at the end of the day, we are able to find much more joy in the journey.

Can it get prettier than this at a trailhead??!!

smiles all around...
