Cheers to 30 years!

Our neighbor, Tom, who lives behind us in the alley is an ER doc at Children's Hospital and has been such a wonderful and supportive doctor and neighbor to so many of us parents in the neighborhood. He helped the Schellings navigate those first few days when Ryker had his traumatic brain injury, he guided the Hestads with Roman's onset of diabetes, and he's on speed dial for some neighbors with young kids.

Upon showing him a video of some of Taylor's bike tricks, he us advised us to get a certain kind of back brace for mountain biking (because he has seen the worst of the worst in the last 3 decades in his practice and he wants to help folks with preventative strategies as much as possible!)

Anyway, sometime in the last few months, he dropped a comment that June 30th marked 30 years that he has been in medicine, and I wrote it on the calendar.
Because why not?

So yesterday morning, I checked with Marisa (Tom's wife) for scheming, picked up some champagne, balloons, and a banner, and sent a group text. And poof- we had a very fun spontaneous surprise party for him when he got home from work yesterday!
