It was such a gift today to get to have some time this afternoon with Anna and Taylor at the zoo. It felt like old times with the three of us off on an adventure together, and I was so thankful to be able to leave the "to-do" list that has been a mile long since we got here to go enjoy some time with these two. It seems that we are beginning to settle in a bit more each day and it is so very good to find some margins again.
The zoo had a "Pumpkin Bash" with special pumpkins for the animals at feeding times and fun treats for the kids at several trick-or-treating spots around the park.
Taylor (the army guy), Anna (the bat), and Em (Minnie Mouse with the coolest dress ever from Janie's college days)
majestic Gray Wolf (I think Rosie and Lily would have fit right in here)
penguins going after the pumpkins
(The fun one to watch was the gorillas. They threw out pumpkins, carrots, broccoli. The gorilla picked up the pumpkin and threw it back. Don't think he really liked it much as a snack!)
