Bedtime Song

One song that we have sung to the kids at bedtime since they were teeny tiny is from Zephaniah 3:17:
The Lord our God
is with you.
He is mighty to save.
The Lord will take
great delight in you.
He will quiet
you with His love.
He will rejoice over you
with singing.

I read a note in my journal from the Christ Community women's retreat that I went on with my mom several years ago. Diana Beach Batarseh was the speaker, and she shared the following in one of her talks:  "When Zephaniah says, 'He will quiet you with His love,' that has been translated as meaning, 'He is silent in His accusations against us.' He is not counting our sins against us."
Amazing news to be reminded of when we are about to close the day and go to sleep. The lullaby of amazing grace-  how sweet the sound indeed....
