Let Freedom Ring

Thanks to the tradition that started in TN when we went to Lookout Mountain with Kristen Odmark, Leslie Mitchell and friends, we are continuing the MLK tradition here in Seattle. We went to the MLK Memorial here in Seattle today for our tribute to Dr. King. We did some crayon rubbings of some of the awesome quotes memorialized there and read parts of his speech shouting out "Let Freedom Ring" from Seattle. (I hope that our shouts were heard all the way on Lookout Mountain today for our friends who gathered there!)

MLK Memorial- Seattle, WA
The park is designed around a black granite "mountain"-
a sculpture at the center of a reflecting pool,
inspired by his "I've Been to the Mountaintop" speech,
made the day before he was assassinated in 1968.

Men often hate each other because they fear each other; they fear each other because they don't know each other; they don't know each other because they can not communicate; they can not communicate because they are separated. - Dr. Martin Luther King

Martin Luther King preached, "I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, that rough places will be made straight and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together."

continuing the celebration at home with Liam and Micah
