I got this African soapstone sculpture as a gift for our family for Valentine's Day.
I found it at a store on Capital Hill called "Massai" that sells a lot of African goods and
had fun talking to the guy there about my love for Kenya.
When I gave it to them that night, I told Anna, Taylor and Jason that this was symbolic for me
because when we have celebrations like
the beginning of Lent or Valentine's Day
or just a regular Thursday-
I am so grateful that I have them to celebrate with.
I am so thankful that they are "my people"
with whom I get to live life and dance through my days.
