helping hands...

"Never worry about numbers.
Help one person at a time,
and always start with the person nearest you."
~Mother Teresa

I love this quote especially as it challenges me when I think
about our neighborhood here in the UDistrict...

Since the kids loved our time this summer volunteering at the food bank which is just a few blocks away from our house, we have it on the calendar to drop by to volunteer once a month this year.

It was such fun to bring Helene with us to check it out and to help us sort and chip in today...
(and we are hoping to bring a different friend with us each time we go..)
They are so welcoming to volunteers and make it so easy to jump in and be a part of what is going on there.

happy helper..

child labor...

I am thankful for Anna and Taylor's helping hands with kids cooking night too...
I love having them prep these meals as they are getting more and more independent in the kitchen! :)
